Cooking brings me real joy.
But you know what gets me overjoyed?
Cooking for someone else! 😁
For some strange reason, my flatmate’s happy to eat my dishes for dinner and it’s not much extra effort on my part since I’m already cooking haha.
I don’t do it for money but he’s agreed to pay a small sum to cover costs. I just tell him “whatever you can afford!”
For tonight, I decided to make the plate a little more presentable: 😁
1. Vegetable broth – leftover overnight soaked whole grain spelt, fresh broccoli, red cabbage, onions, ginger and garlic. Lots of good stuff just thrown in a pot haha.
2. Side – Brown rice cakes with herb spread, seaweed and coconut nectar
3. Side – Sourdough ‘French-toast’!
This was steamed! A new experiment as that’s my preferred way of heat up sourdough to prevent burning or ‘brick-ing’ the bread in the oven/toaster.
So I just poured a whipped egg over the bread today.
