This is a Feijoa-licious dish to celebrate the end of Autumn and the Feijoa season! 🍂
Before arriving in New Zealand, I had never heard of or tasted a Feijoa.
Now I’ve fallen in love with them from the very first bite! 😋
I even started enjoying them with the skin on!
It’s where most of the health benefits are! 😉
“Researchers from the University of Auckland studied the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of 12 fruits, discovering that feijoa and blackberry show the strongest anti-inflammatory response. [full research here]
“In feijoa, the skin has more bioactivity than the pulp [33]”
As if they weren’t sweet enough, in this bowl I added:
- some Cinnamon
- Garlic Hummus
- Tomato Basil Passata
- Tamarind Chutney
- and my favourite of all, @raglancoconutyoghurt ‘s Turmeric & Mango flavoured coconut yogurt! 😁
How’s your autumn been?
