Batching your Cooking to Save Time!

Batch cooking is a great way to for anyone and everyone looking to eat more healthy home cooked meals and save time in the process.

What’s batch cooking?

Well basically it’s cooking a LOT at one go and storing them in the fridge.

Ideally, this should last you several meals over the following days.

Its real simple.

I normally do this on the day I buy groceries, like a weekend or a day off.

Essentially I wash, cut and cook the same meal but just upsize it by 2 or 3 folds!

Like today I made a big pot of vegetable curry-ish soup (just coconut milk powder without curry powder because my current landlady can’t stand the smells … 😔) with all sorts of veggies from cauliflower to beets, broccoli, carrots, cabbage and kale.


I also heated a smaller pot of overnight soaked chipotle spiced beans and grains for some vegan protein. This consist of spelt and red quinoa grains, chia seeds and an assortment of beans and lentils.

Lastly, I roasted some leftover taros and butternut squash.

Here’s how my rainbow vegan dinner looked like:


But after scooping out the veggies, I had too much soup left!

Hmm.. what to do?

Inspiration struck and I threw in some noodles to soak up that richly coloured and flavoured vegetable broth!

And ate round 2 of dinner in the process 😆

With that, I had a huge bowl of veggies, and 2 more bowls of noodles and beans+grains for at least 2 more days!


That’s batch cooking for ya.

To save time, you can also pre-pack your lunchboxes like I do so they’re ready to grab and go in your mad morning rush. 😉

Added 2 scoops of Raglan’s natural greek coconut yogurt to balance off that spice!
