Lifestyle Medicine: Warm Water on Waking

This is a lifestyle habit/hack that I’ve been recommending to many clients and friends.

Start your day right with a glass of warm water first thing in the morning.


  1. Because you’re probably dehydrated from the night’s sleep
  2. Because it feels sooo good. That warm water creates a warm fuzzy feeling as the water flows down into your belly.
  3. That warm feeling gets things moving! (poop and digestive system) I often poop very soon after. Most days twice!

In fact it feels so good that I follow up with another cup of warm herbal tea 30-45 mins later and repeatedly throughout the day (except after meals).
